Rhubarb Rhubarb

That quiet but growing rumble you hear off in the distance is from the phalanxes of standalone mp3 broadcasts being served up from TextDrive (and, one imagines, other fine hosting providers). CodBlasting? GodFasting? Names these days.

Without question some are pretty good, working a nice mix of the acute intimacy forged between speaker and listener in good broadcast radio, of the good fun in people riffing with each other, and of good old fashioned do-it-yourselfishness. Inevitably some are pure, unfiltered, cheese-sandwich multimediocrity, but those are of course only available from other fine hosting providers.

Above all, however, I think it only reasonable to suggest that everyone everywhere should be required to listen to Maciej Ceglowski’s excellent, excellent Audioblogging Manifesto.

  2. Speaking of which, when are the RSS 2.0 enclosures and podcasting plugins going into Textpattern?

  3. Feed plugins for Textpattern? Gwaah? Please point me to where/who is working on this, if someone is. That’s good stuff.
